Madonna of Port Lligat The
"Madonna of Port Lligat" is, along with the "Christ of
Saint Johan of the Cross", the best known of all Dali's religious
works. The opening in the bronze worked in the Virgin's breast leads one
to imagine the infant Jesus suspended in the air, just as He is portrayed
in the Picture. With the exception of certain images inspired by Raphael,
the heads and faces of Dali's Madonnas always represent Gala. The
